Mostly extruded polygons. The upper part of the body I designed one complete side of and then replicated. The lower part was a polygon that was mirrored and then extruded downwards.
The most difficult part was the shoulder armour - that was done using a sphere. I deleted some of the surfaces to create a basic shape, deformed it appropriately and then extruded along the edges to create the flaring. I then extruded the whole shape to give it some thickness, and subdivided a couple of times to smooth it out.
