I am vacillating re purchasing. My toolchain is Solid edge -> Simlab export.obj plugin -> ac3d -> X-plane Planemaker

Using the demo of ac3d - I modeled a small instrument in Solidedge then into ac3d and have spent 16 hours trying to map textures and then get the instrument into x-plane in the correct location/ orientation .

Has anyone successfully implemented the above process and are there any tutorials on such a process flow works .
