Default Boolean Intersections

Hey

I've been using AC3D for a while now, mostly on minor projects - no real rendering experience or anything. I'm having trouble with the Boolean intersection function.

I'm taking two surfaces (that are facing front and left respectively) and extruding them so that they intersect. Then I'm using the boolean function to remove everything but the intersection.

Some of the time, it works, but sometimes it doesn't. If it doesn't work, the result ends up being more of a subtraction. Sometimes it even does the entire opposite of what I intend - the resulting piece is everything in the extrusions that ISN'T intersecting. Can anyone explain what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks! I really apprecaite it.
