Symmetry problems with Secondlife
Hello. I am trying to make a symmetrical face in AC3D, and it looks perfectly symmetrical in the program...
However, when I upload the sculpt into Secondlife, the face is slightly assymetrical at certain points. It's most noticeable on the nose, and sometimes the eyes(which are textured). Additionally, the nose must be deformed in AC3D in order to get the desired look in SecondLife(for an anime-shaped nose). The nose area was divided once in order to give more faces for detail, but the FAQ for AC3D sculpties on Secondlife clearly say that you can add faces and divide. Quote:

Try giving more UV space on the map to the areas that are giving you trouble. Sculpt maps are inherently integer-based, which means numbers get rounded off which may be causing your loss of symmetry. If you enlarge the UV area, more polygons will get dedicated to that section and you may get better resolution.

Oh, how do I give it more UV space? I'll try to look around for a tutorial...

In the TCE, select the faces that are around your face area, and stretch them so that part of the map is larger. This will shrink the surrounding areas, but smooth areas like the back of the head are usually fine that way.
