Unbearably slow...
I have an ATi Radeon 7500 graphics card, P4 2.5 ghz and 512 MB DDR ram.
I have loaded up a landscape from the tutorial on modelling landscapes but trying to edit it is impossible. Everytime I deselect or try to reselect surfaces or objects, it takes about 20 seconds to change selection. Its infuriating and I cant get anything done. Is this normal? Did anyone else get this problem who used the ap? |

How many surfaces are in your model?

Re: Unbearably slow...
Also which version of AC3D is being used (just in case you aren't on the latest version).

Total objects: 6 surfaces: 4862 vertices: 2534
Using the latest version. I just followed the tutorial to import a landscape and it's a pretty basic tutorial. It's weird that if you undo selections, it is instant. |

Re: Unbearably slow...
thats odd, with the specs you listed, you should be haulin-ass
try making a sphere and subdivide it till you have around 4862 surfaces and tell us how it runs. |

OpenGL !!!
It's that M$ people again! They do not provide OpenGL by hardware drivers for XP and newer operating systems. You need to download a driver drivectly from your card's manufacturer. In your case: www.ATI.com
That's really a problem these days. Andy, you should check if OpenGL hardware support is available, if not give (one in the lifetime) a warning/hint what to do. This can cost you potencial customners otherwise. HTH, Gernot
