How to increase detail?
I am fairly new to AC3D and modeling in general, so it is quite possible that I am missing something obvious.
I am working an creating a vehicle model from images. So I trace the outline of the vehicle from the side, then extrude it to the full width, easy. Now there are places on the model where I would like to add some additional detail, better curves mostly. To do this I need to add some additional vertices to certain areas of the mesh. Is there a way to do this? Surface>Divide splits a surface, but it creates T-junctions with the neighboring surfaces. Intuitively, I want to select an edge and divide it, which would be a new vertices in the middle of that edge, and split the polys on either side of the edge to that new vertex. Is it possible to do something like this in AC3D? (Hope so!) Thanks! |

Re: How to increase detail?
3.7 will have 'divide edge' and also 'flip edge' which you should find useful.

Re: How to increase detail?
what i do is select two vertices (hold down shift and click two vertices) then select Vertices->Insert Vertex and you will get a vertex between the two you selected.
my 2 cents patrick |
