Graphics display problem - magenta lines
I am running a new Acer Predator Helios 300 laptop with a built-in Nvidia RTX 2060 GPU, updated with the newest driver from Nvidia. When I run AC3D without loading any files, all viewports are filled with magenta line artifacts. AC3D will load and import 3D files just fine, but the magenta screen artifacts are still there. My other graphics software do not have any problems (Photoshop, Windows 3D Viewer, Powerpoint, etc.) Please see attached screen shot... Any ideas? Does AC3D have any sort of config or INI file that I should try deleting? I ran hardware diagnostics on both video cards (there is also a built-in Intel display GPU) with no errors.
I installed Blender to see if it also has the symptoms, but Blender looks normal and okay - no artifacts. Thanks Last edited by texasranger; 30th May 2021 at 02:41 PM. |

Re: Graphics display problem - magenta lines
Well that's a strange one. Apart from the magenta lines, does it run as normal i.e. is the speed the same?
I would check the NVidia control panel and see that it's not forcing AC3D to have anti-aliasing smoothing effects or stuff like that. |

Re: Graphics display problem - magenta lines
Thanks for the reply Andy! I’ll check the nVidia settings to see if there’s anything I can adjust - I agree that it is strange...

Re: Graphics display problem - magenta lines
Success! I changed my nVidia "Manage 3D Settings" Preferred Graphics Processor to the nVidia GPU - it was set to use the Intel built-in GPU. I also changed "Windows Graphic Settings" and added AC3D as the Graphics Performance Processor app choice (was empty selection).
Thanks for the tip Andy! All is good now. |

That's great. Could be useful information for others.
Nice model BTW. Cheers! |
