dds to obj
hi
sorry,, i'm french, i don't speak english very good. And, I don't know if I am in the good section. Sorry:mrgreen: I want open a dds file but AC3D don't want So I want to convert my dds to obj but i dont find the plug in for. Can you help me? Best regards, Spikii |

DDS is a 2D graphics file, there are convertors to make it jpg or tga.

The DDS plugin for AC3D should handle all DXT1,3,5 format 2D images, though.
DDS *can* specify cube maps, 3D textures, and other compression formats which are *not* supported, though. I'm kinda curious what format your DDS is actually specifying. |

I explain you my problem. I would like to create a 3D model of a nascar'cars. I have the files in .psd . Files take in easport.com. I can customize my skin, and, so And I would like to open it in ac3d, because it is easport who advises to open it in this software so, what can I do? |

From what I can tell, NASCAR allows you to edit a car texture template. PSD and DDS files are used as textures, but AC3D is a 3d model-building program. You would need a model (such as a 3ds, OBJ, .X, etc) to apply your texture to in order to view it in AC3D.
However, even then AC3D will not allow you to edit the texture image. You need a 2D paint program to do that. You could try GiMP or PhotoShop for your 2D editing. |
