More on texturing
Hi,
Absolute novice at this, trying to create own helicopter for presentations. I bought a cheap already created helicopter and tried to amend it to learn the software. When I try to get the logo's and registration markings onto the wire frame. The logo's appear back to front on one side? I have tried all sorts of combinations to no avil.I think I know how to sort it by using the texture co-ordinator, but cannot figure it out. I have got to a stage where the mapping is on the top image. Help! |

Re: More on texturing
Hi,
this happens because both left and right sides of your helicopter use the same space in the texture map. This "trick" is often used to save texture space and then have a better texture resolution on the displayed model. In your case, I don't see an easy way to resolve the problem, because : a) left and right sides are not simple shapes (if they were a simple rectangle you could easily flip horizontaly the according uvs) b) you don't have anymore space in the uv map to remap both sides individually ... If you really want to put logos on your model you will have to rework both the uvs and the texture.

Re: More on texturing
So, the logo is horizontally mirrored on just one side?
You used the same texture area for both sides of the fuselage. The texture has individual texturing areas for left & right side. Simply select the polygons of the respective side and move/mirror the texture area. peter |
