Re: PLUGIN: Twister
Steve
JUst downloaded and installed the latest Twister version. I can confirm tbd's findings - everything is now working okay. Thanks for your efforts. |

Re: PLUGIN: Twister
Please check that the up-down arrows for the numeric input boxes work in the GUI -- I made an unfortunate change to the tcl file that stopped them from functioning which I fixed as soon as I noticed the problem. The incorrect version was only up for a short time, but you may have been unlucky.

I have had AC3D for a long time (originally purchased to make models for Blitz3D), but it's only since I upgraded to v6 that I have actually started using it and developing plugins. AC3D passes my 5 minute "ball on top of a cylinder" test. If I can't acheive that with a modeller, then it's too hard to use! I hope my subsequent plugins live up to expectation! I may not have Dennis' staying power though. |

I have started work on "Bender", which now bends stuff, but not in a very flexible (pardon the pun) way -- ie. it only bends in a preset plane about a preset point. Not really useful. I would also like to write "Displacer" which would apply a monchrome image as a displacement map to a surface. It would be nice to be able to use the existing texture mechanism to do this (to save having to write readers and writers for various image formats), but I haven't figured out if this is possible via the API. Re: PLUGIN: Twister
you should try to work with autocad. there are certain plugins that autocad had that would make ac3d very efficent.
I liked some of autocads fuctions it was a very decent program. if ac3d had some of those functions like say an object snap then you would realtivly increase ac3d's usefulness Last edited by nightoftheroundtable; 2nd October 2006 at 07:42 PM. |

Re: PLUGIN: Twister
Look forward to using these. New to the program. I think a plug in that will help you work with edges like Wings would be useful. I like AC3D but I want the tools for edges wings has beign able to select edges edge loops edge rings and extrude edges and dissolve then reattach edges. Soem of these things can be done in AC3D but it takes a lot longer to do.
