Default Combine chopper

Jupp, I want to see if I can model something after a reference. In this case its the combine chopper in the exellent game Half-life 2. It feels a bit odd to have to model after pictures and not from my imagination, so I guess I'll add some details from my head as well

It's not as easy as I first thought this reference modeling. It's a struggle getting the proportions right. Still its good clean fun, and I get to use my brain to figure out how the heck I should do this. The bottom pic are one of the reference pictures I use to model this thing. Its a screenshot from the game.

Modelizing something while trying to stay as close as possible from reference pictures can cause headaches ... I know that

Good luck Thor !

I had to do a render of the chopper to see if the mesh worked as it should. Its not easy this reference modeling. I have had to pull in many directions to get it as close as possible.

looks like a mighty fine chopper there thor. Next you should try to model a stryder from half life 2 those damnible atrocities are difficult to destroy without rockets.

Here is the rotor. Its not the same as the reference, but the original was kinda crap anyway. Guess they had to cut some polys there.
