Re: Creating a texture mapped car body
Andy,
How do you select the surfaces when you are applying the texture in the TCE to the roof? I follow the bit about to the side but I can't seem to just select the surfaces that make up the roof, front windscreen and bonnet, how do you do that? Great tutorial videos, just wish there was commentary. Cheers, Titch |

Re: Creating a texture mapped car body
Hold down the control key and click to select a surface in the 3D window. Also holding down shift adds that surface to the selection. The click is important since it only selects the nearest surface - a drag will select all underneath the drag rectangle.

Re: Creating a texture mapped car body
Andy,
I think there's a bug with selecting surfaces in the 3D view. I'm in the middle of the car tutorial and about to place the texture on the front bumper/grill. Even when I have the car point directly towards the camera and I ctrl-mouse1 click the front the side surface of the car is selected. Even if I zoom up very close it will usually select a surface that is not the one I'm clicking on. Cheers, Titch |

Re: Creating a texture mapped car body
You have to be sure you are not draging. If you drag it will select ALL of the surfaces that are even partially within the box.

Re: Creating a texture mapped car body
I wasn't dragging. I'm in surface mode and a simple click is all I do.
