Long delays in Save dialog

AC3D 7.0.11 Mac, OSX 10.6.8

When I save a drawing using Save As, it takes a long time to modify the file name. Especially deleting part of the filename.

I was working on a drawing named 'engine 12 contour.ac', and wanted to save a new version as 'engine 12 revolved.ac', Save As, dialog opens, I select the word 'contour', press Backspace and then it takes 3 minutes before the dialog updates. This happens even with simple drawings.

In other applications this is instantaneous.

Any idea what's happening?
