Default It's time

Ok I know I probably sound like a broken record. I occasionally post this topic but I have to ask again. How about animation? Any chance the next release will finally have animation Andy? Possibly? Maybe? :?:

Yeah there are programs for gifs and stuff. But I would like to be able to use ac3d to animate 3d models. Right now for any kind of animation I generally end up modeling in ac3d and then exporting to a milkshape file and using milkshape to animate. It would be great if ac3d could do it all.

well theres one gif maker program that I know of. I think its generally macs only. its called gif builder. but what I would do is I would make a save a pic of your project but dont do it as png go to the one where it says png animation. that does a 360 animation of what ever angle you are at on your project. then once you have that established compile all neccessary pics into gif builder. that should work. I'm sure theres easier ways of doing it though.

I know they are called *animated gifs* but they are not 3d animations ... more some tiny movie. What brvids is talking about is 3d animation.

However, AC3D is a static 3d modeler. You could add the cababilty of doing 3d animation (of the type brvids suggests) ... but I do not think it is a trivial addition. In fact there are complete programs out there ... eg Lifeforms and Mimic ... just dedicated to 3d animation.

Just experimenting with .bvh motion capture files for animating in vrml tells me that there will be all kinds of problems to overcome. This is not just adding a script.

And the boolean operation still needs fixing in current edition of AC3D.

http://www.fragmosoft.com/

20$ only and very good (better than Milkshape IMHO).

griff,
Agreed. Boolean functionality is the bigest roadblock on our AC3D happy trail atm.
