Default edge selection and tools

Am I right that there is no edge selection in AC3D, and therefore no edge tools?

If so, then I think the app would benefit considerably by having edge selection and edge tools.

You can extrude edges by selecting both beginning and ending vertices and then pressing CTRL+E.

True enough, but that's a two step process compared to a single 'edge' click. i'm asking for edge selection too.

For me, it is not just a matter of edge extrusion. I would like to be able to crease edges before or after subdivision and smoothing. I believe there are, or at least there could be, other uses for edge selection.
