Default Complex surfaces with holes?

Hi all, Could anyone possibly explain to me how to remove the holes from this surface, I am trying to model a helicopter, but am stuck on this part.
Have tried following the flange tutorial, which works fine, but for this shape, the triangles all appear in the wrong places lol.
I have a working knowledge of AutoCAD but it seems this works in a very different fashion.

Thanks in advance, Chris

Default Re: Complex surfaces with holes?

Hi Chris!

Is this what you mean?

If so, what I did was select the outer surface, and "remove surface only", leaving just the vertices. Then, I highlighted the vertices along the edge of the "holes", and the vertices on the outer surface a section at a time, and then selected "create ordered surface". I then merged the object back together, and deleted the surfaces making up the holes.
