Can you give an example of how to reproduce the crash on delete?

Confirmed, it happened to me as well.

Seems to only happen after doing work though. If you open a file and try to delete right away, nothing unusual happens. I've been able to reproduce the crashes by following these steps:

1) On a new file, create a cube.
2) Select the object, go to vertices, and unweld everything.
3) Snap vertices together by distance (0.001 is my default).
4) Optimize Vertices.
5) Delete cube.

Causes a crash every time.

Crash on delete happens to me, too. Draw a poly line - trace it with a face. move the face. delete the poly line. Crash :-(

Sorry, Andy, have to say "me too"

Just switching to vertex or surface mode is enough. I don't need to weld or snap vertexes.

I cannot either while "select trough" is inactive. Works only if it's active.

Crashing after delete:
Open file
Deselect all
Select a single object
Change to surface mode
(Open and close texture Editor) not always necessary for crash
Change to object mode
Select the same object
Delete object -> Crash

Best wishes
Uli

Thanks Guys. Found and fixed the delete bug.

The fix will be released shortly.

AC3D 7.2 Important Update

We have just released AC3D 7.2.17. If you have already installed 7.2.14 then you need to remove this and install 7.2.17. (You can find out which version of AC3D you have from the menu Help->About-AC3D.)

7.2.17 fixes a bug which could cause AC3D to crash when objects were deleted. It also fixes a problem with selections (when ‘Select-Through’ was unticked).

A couple of other improvements have been made too:

Vertex->Snap-Together – now moves all selected vertices to the average position.
Vertex->Snap-to-First-Vertex – a new function which snaps vertices to the position of the first vertex that was selected.

AC3D 7.2.17 is available for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X (Intel) – DOWNLOAD NOW

FYI, these last two version updates have been by "Unknown Publisher" and its making Windows 8 have conniptions.

The "snap vertex to this other vertex over here" bit is also very much appreciated.

Now if we could just get the ability to slide a vertex along a line, we'd really be cooking with gas (as in, when you insert a vertex along the side of a slanted poly, it would be nice to be able to move that vertex up and down the line without actually going off the original line, no pulling it up/down/forwards/back).

Thank you for this excellent bug fix speed!
Is it really necessary to deinstall / install the entire package or may I replace the related files?
Could it be possible to publish a file list in further cases?
