Last thing done was trying to apply a material to a cylinder (material#3) from the Palette menu.

Unfortunately, the end of the log is truncated so I can't be exactly sure of the problem. Looking back at the commands and undos used, it's possible that there is a problem with Vertex->Weld. Is that something you may have used in sessions that crashed?

Yes, I use it extensively. Normal operations flow for me when using it is to first use Snap Together by Distance to ensure that the vertices are located properly for welding and then use Weld.

OK, I'll investigate that further. Perhaps use Object->Optimize-vertices, instead of weld, for a bit.

I'll do that. My guess for the truncated line at the end of the log file is because of the crash, it was in the process of being written but due to the suddenness of the crash, it never was completed.

So I have been crash free for a while now, not using the Weld function bu rather the Optimize Vertices function as the substitute. So it looks like there's something funny going on with the Weld function as it is the only thing I haven't been using in my new operations flow.

Just thought that I would post this update to help you narrow down the possible culprit(s) and fix it.
