Importing .wrl files result in -group
Hello
I try to import geometry, to further process it (animate for X-Plane). The .wrl files are imported as group, and not al poly, which I would need to animate it. Is there a way to go one step back from the group to generate a poly? Or is there a way to specify the import? .stl would also work, but AC3D seems not able to really read that, sadly. Any input much apprechiated. Happy new Year Luke AC3D 8.0.80 & 7.5.02 |

Re: Importing .wrl files result in -group
Although the object may be a named "group" it is probably still a standard poly object. Check the Tools->Hierarchy to see the structure loaded.
If there is some kind of hierarchy, you can flatten it and put all the geometry in a single object with merge or a copy/paste. |

Re: Importing .wrl files result in -group
Andy, thanks for your input.
However, I'm not able either to merge (since it's already a single -group, nor does copy paste works. Yet I found a way: Export it as X-Plane Obj 8, and open it again. Like this a 'poly' is created, just as I need it. |
