Re: Xplane reflective windows help ??
Hello. I need to do the exact same thing but I didn't quite understand the instructions. Here's what I have so far. I have the x-plane .obj file already textured and I just need to make the windows surfaces shiny. X-plane will only accept ONE texture file per model. I couldn't find the "tickbox in object properties". I do have the correct x-plane plugins installed. If you could help me I would be very grateful. Thank you.

"X-Plane object properties" is the first/top menu item on the X-Plane main menu. Use-AC3D-materials is in the middle of the dialog (above "blending") that popups up when you select that menu item.

Re: Xplane reflective windows help ??
That worked great. What I was doing wrong was that I was in object mode. I had to switch to surface mode and select the surfaces I wanted to change. So, thank you so much for your help. Cheers.

Re: Xplane reflective windows help ??
The other way is to use V11 style normal files and set the alpha channel shininess very high....

This is a great source for new painters..... note the post on metalness and shininess.
