View Points
How about a set of buttons for fixing view points for the 3d window?
By view point I mean an x,y,z co-ordinate with the possibility of an angle of viewing from that point. If there were half a dozen of so of these with the ability to attach reference notes giving a brief indication of the view point. BENEFIT When creating/modifying a model it would be beneficial to be able to click on these view point buttons to automatically go out to a certain point to view the overall results of a change rather than manually backing out or going around if you need to check the model from a totally different angle. Might be a drop down list which just shows a list of the different name references. ENTRY Either enter reference points manually or automatically when you are at the point you want to enter. brings up a box with the details and a box for entering the name you want to call the point. Ability to modify/delete view points. Just a thought. Robbie |

Or how about the ability to add "cameras" to the scene?
You add a load to the scene in different places and then flip between them to quickly change the view point. Whatever movement you make in the 3D window just affects the current camera, leaving the others where they are. And you could add notes to each camera using the standard object text facility. (Plus that would be a nice feature to be able to add to an exporter, say to define track-side cameras on a racing circuit) |
