Here is the first images of the engineering and flight study for the V.40.
It was the smallest plane built in 1920 by Fokker. It originally had a 35hp Anzani Y engine and the study will use a 1/2 VW 37-40hp engine. It shape is based on the Fokker D.VIII, and it is around 70% smaller. First some structural outlines: ![]() ![]() ![]() As part of the study a flight model is being built alonside to determine its flight characteristics, this is in FlightGear: ![]() The model will be worked up to full engineering, so she can be built. The engine mounts will be as per Fokker style so different engines could be fitted as required.

Here are some almost finished fuselage shots:
![]() ![]() Needs the wire bracing to be added, then I can do a weight estimate, hoping it comes in around 28-30 kgs. I've also changed the bottom longeron to be 18/1 mm for the full length. Now what I'd like ot do is be able to produce 2D CAD drawings from the model, without having to go through a hugh range of processes.

The new wing and fusealge come together. This week I plan to complete the basic engineering so it will be ready for the exibition, http://www.klassikwelt-bodensee.de/
There are a lot of details to add, but these are build once, replicate many times. Shouldn't take too long.

Some new renders of the plane....the final version will be rendered in Deep Exploration, as it has a nice look to the end image.

Here is the engine I'm going to fit, a later model then identified in the research, but I don't have drawings for the correct one yet.
